GhostLock Battery Usage: What Our 24-Hour Tests Show
We ran the guard for full 24-hour cycles on five phones. Here is the real battery cost, feature by feature.

How we tested
Battery claims are easy to make, so we measured. GhostLock ran active for 24 hours on five phones: Galaxy A55, Pixel 8, Redmi Note 13 Pro, Infinix Note 40 Pro, and Galaxy A13. Motion, charger, and SIM alarms were armed; geo-fencing was tested separately.
The numbers
Core alarms (motion, charger, SIM, pickpocket): under 4% per day. The sensor listeners are efficient, and the app sleeps between events. On every test phone this was background noise next to the screen and social apps.
With geo-fencing on: 4 to 6% per day. Location checks cost more than sensors, as expected. Still modest, but it is the hungriest feature in the app.
During an actual alarm: negligible. A siren burst of a minute uses less than a minute of video playback. Alarms are rare by design.
If your drain is higher
Above 8% a day means something is wrong, and it is almost always Android fighting the app: battery optimization killing and restarting the guard in a loop. Set the app to Unrestricted in battery settings and the drain drops back to normal. The troubleshooting guide walks through it, and the update guide covers keeping the efficient build current.
Quick answers
Does GhostLock drain battery overnight?
About 1 to 2% over eight hours with core alarms armed in our tests. Geo-fencing adds a little more.
Why is my battery usage higher than your numbers?
Almost always battery optimization restarting the app in a loop. Set GhostLock to Unrestricted and re-measure.
Does the siren itself use much power?
No. Even a full minute of siren uses less power than a minute of video.
